Family Outreach Receives Grants
Northwood Woman’s Club has chosen Family Outreach Richardson-Plano as a recipient for their charity award in May 2011. We are pleased to be their recipient once again.
Wentworth Estates Women’s Club has also, once again, chosen Family Outreach as the recipient of their March Madness Party and Silent Auction.
The City of Plano has awarded Family Outreach $9000 from the Buffington Community Services Grant for their 2010-2011 fiscal year. This will be used for our Mentoring/Casework Program.
The Rees-Jones Foundation has awarded a grant covering the period September 2010 to September 2011.
The George and Fay Young Foundation awarded a grant covering the period June 2010 to June 2011.
We are ever so grateful for the community support that these grants signify.
Best in America
Family Outreach, Richardson-Plano was awarded the Best In America Seal by the Independent Charities of America. The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence is awarded to the members of Independent Charities of America and Local Independent Charities of America that have, upon rigorous independent review, been able to certify, document, and demonstrate on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness.
These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world.
Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal.
Awards
HASR, (Helping Agencies Serving Richardson) awarded the Humanitarian Volunteer of the Year to our Vice-President, Carolyn Kennington
